Event Production Show reveals panel line up for the opening day of the 2017 event
With registration now live, the Event Production Show has secured four fantastic panellists forthe opening day of the 2017 event.
Taking place 1st March at Olympia London, day one will open with a bang.
The panel is made up of music festival legend John Giddings, Isle of Wight Festival; Phil Bowdery, Live Nation; Tim Burgess, The Charlatans and Ben Jones, Virgin Radio.
Giddings’s accomplishments include responsibility for many of the most high profile tours of recent years including The Rolling Stones, Madonna, Genesis, Celine Dion, Iggy Pop and David Bowie. John also revived the Isle of Wight Festival, the Woodstock of Europe.
Bowdery is the Executive President of Touring, International at Live Nation. Phil’s passion for music and his wealth of experience in touring is a vital ingredient in the company’s continued success across the globe. In 2006, Phil was honoured with one of the music industry’s most coveted accolades - the Pollstar“International Promoter of the Year” award and in 2015 he received an Arthur Award for Promoter’s Promoter.
Burgess is a singer, writer, coffee importer and record label boss who is best known as the front man of The Charlatans. In 2014, the Charlatans were given a lifetime achievement award by Q magazine, the icing on the cake after glowing reviews of their album Modern Nature across the UK and international press.
Jones is a national radio broadcaster, producer and creative director. Having spent the last 20 years in TV and radio for braodcasters such as ITV, Sky, Heart, Absolute Radio and most recently returning to the newly re-launched Virgin Radio. Ben is highly experienced in live events and broadcast as well as talent management having worked with some of the biggest artists in the world such as Bowie, The Rolling Stones, AC/DC, Aerosmith, The Who and Bon Jovi.
The session entitled “Do you have to sell out to sell out? What is the future for independent festivals” will take place on the Main Stage located on the exhibition floor. Event Director Duncan Siegle said “We are delighted to welcome such an esteemed panel to EPS,they will bring plenty of inspiration and anecdotes gained from working across the music industry.
